Scholarship Overview
Chevening Scholarships are the UK government's global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations. Since 1983, nearly 60,000 professionals have benefited from this prestigious award to study in the UK and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.
Chevening offers fully funded scholarships to outstanding emerging leaders from around the world to pursue one-year master's degrees at any UK university. On average, 13 Myanmar students are awarded Chevening scholarships each year to join this prestigious global network.

Eligibility Requirements
π― Basic Requirements

Citizenship: Must be a citizen of Myanmar (not UK or dual UK citizenship)

Return Commitment: Must return to Myanmar for at least 2 years after scholarship ends

No Previous UK Study: Have not studied in the UK with UK government funding
π Academic Requirements

Bachelor's Degree: Undergraduate degree equivalent to UK upper second-class 2:1 honours (typically 60% or higher)

University Admission: Apply to THREE different eligible UK Master's courses (MUST be exactly 3)

Programme Start: All courses must start in autumn (September/October)

Minimum 2 Years: At least 2,800 hours of work experience (full-time, part-time, voluntary, or internships)

IELTS Academic: Overall 6.5, no component below 6.0 (typical minimum)

Note: Check individual university requirements - many require IELTS 7.0+
Important: You cannot apply if you are employees, former employees, or relatives of employees of UK government (British Embassy/FCDO) or Association of Commonwealth Universities staff.
